United Let Us Be are lyrics from the song, “Hail Columbia”, considered to be the first national anthem of the US before the Star Spangled Banner was written and adopted. I felt that phrase conveyed the meaning I wanted to impart with this patriotic punch needle design….for the people to be united in our country. The design is punched using both Valdani and DMC thread and will make a great patriotic piece of décor for your home decorating. The focal point is an eagle, surrounded by the banners akin to our nation’s flag. It can be stuffed into a small pillow, used as a large ornament, attached to a board, basket or finial, etc. I include a line drawing, color placement diagrams, detailed drawings, materials list, and several color images of the punched lines to give the customer a very clear image of the method used to complete the design. With a pattern purchase, resizing for rug hooking is allowed, but no mass marketing of the pattern itself is allowed. Finished pieces made be made and sold at shows and online, with credit given to the artist. The approximate finished size, with the border, is 5 3/4″H x 6 1/2″ W.
